Mary Surratt was an innocent woman who was accused of helping John Wilkes Booth with the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. She got hanged for it, but the person who actually did do something to help John Wilkes, Dr Mudd, didn’t get hanged, he got life in prison.
Mary Dyer was born in England in 1611. She married William Dyer and went to Massachusetts in 1635. She was a good friend with Anne Hutchinson and shared the same views; they were Quakers. She was the mother of 8 children, two died shortly after birth. Mary had a stillborn daughter that was deformed and they buried in secret, because it was believer that either if a women preached or listen to a woman preacher their child would be deformed or that the deformed child was consequences of the parents sins.
Chris McCandless: Spiritual Revolutionary of the Primordial World Chris McCandless, a young, nonconformist man, died in the Alaskan wilderness trying to live off the land there. Some laud McCandless for his transcendentalist behavior and unique, nonconformist beliefs; others call McCandless a reckless fool whose impulsive actions ended up costing his life. Chris McCandless was ultimately a modern day transcendentalist because he believed that nature was purer than society, a common transcendentalist belief. An inscription McCandless engraved in Fairbanks bus 142 indicatesthat he thought of society as poisonous, thus making nature purer than society in McCandless’s mind. Molly Ivins was born in Monterey, California in 1944. Her family moved a year after to Houston, Texas where she was raised (Reader 7). While she attends high school, she interns for the Houston Chronicles and is assigned to the Complaint Department (Reader 9). It is in this department that Ivins ' recognizes what customers are interested in reading—what attracts readers, what they expect from journalists’ and their articles (Reader 10). Eventually, Ivins gets a job as a police reporter for the Minneapolis Tribune.
Rachel Donelson was born in 1767 in Pittsylvania County which was on the western frontier of Virginia. She was the eighth of eleven children born to the Tennessee pioneers, John and Rachel Donelson. When Rachel was 12 years old, her father led her family, along with a large group of others, on a flotilla down the Cumberland River for nearly 1,000 miles in what today is middle Tennessee. They arrived in April 1780 to become some of the first white settlers of Nashville.

Jane Long had a rough start of life but a great ending that changed the history of Texas for good. Jane Long was born on July 23, 1798 as the tenth child of her big family. Jane’s father, Capt. William Mackall, fought in the revolutionary war before she was born but died in 1799. In 1811 her mother, Ann Herbert Wilkinson, moved their family to Mississippi but died soon after in 1812 making Jane an orphan at age 14.
St. Margaret of Scotland was an English princess born around 1045 in Hungary. Her father, the English prince Edward the Exile, was called back to England in 1057 to be a potential successor of their throne. However, he died shortly after arriving in England. Her family remained in England until around 1066, when they fled from King William the Conqueror. Her family shipwrecked in Scotland.
Julia child- Cooking is like love it should be entered into without abandon. Julia Child was a french cuisine chef master. Her love for cooking didn 't start until she was 32 actually! Julia Carolyn McWilliams was born August 15th 1912 in Pasadena, California. Some of her nicknames were Jukie, Juke, and Juju.
Queen Melissa is the perfect leader to rule a large group of people. She always takes charge of a situation and easily gets things done. In the description it says, “She gets tasks done because she leads by example and her followers are successful because of it.” This would be good if the citizens want a change in the society, or want a solution to a large problem that is affecting a lot of people. This proves that she has the best interest of her followers in mind, and she never leaves things unfinished.
Flannery O 'Connor was born in Savannah Georgia on March 25, 1925, as an only child. Her mother had to assume most of the responsibility of raising Flannery because her father died of lupus when she was fifteen. Flannery attended the Georgia State College for Women, and then went to the State University in Iowa where she received her master in Fine Arts (Gooch). Flannery’s life was very short, died at the age of 39, as she struggled with lupus, the same incurable disease that claimed the life of her father. O’Conner family was devoutly Catholic, which would influence her work and her outlook in life a great deal.
Nursing has been around since ancient times. People have needed the healing hands of nurses for thousands upon thousands of years. In Africa, the healing techniques of witch doctors and medicine men were taught to chosen children. The medicine men and witch doctors were like the nurses for the entire village. However, these more primitive techniques have evolved into much more evidence-based practices.
Fanny Burney Fanny Burney was born in Lynn Regis, England, on June 13, 1752, to Charles Burney and Esther Sleeper. Fanny Burney one of the six children. Father was a famed musical historian, composer, and musician. Her father had a doctorate in music from Oxford. She mother, warm and intelligent women, was Catholic daughter of a French refugee.
Christian leadership is about caring for the poor and UN healthy. The following leaders have shown that they have good Christian leadership skills. The first leader that I will be talking about is Mother Mary, also known as Mother Mary of the cross Mackillop, or by her formal name Mary Mackillop. I will then be talking about John Bede Polding and Catherine Mc Aueley and how they showed Christian leadership skills. Mary Mackillop was born on 15 January 1842 in Fitzroy Melbourne.
