Today I Ask, What were the possible causes of the New Salem witch trials? Based off facts and common sense I would say that their were no witches and that girls were looking for attention by having “fits”, One girl would start and the rest would join by screaming and throwing themselves around to say they were being attacked by Satan or demons. Little did these girls know what was about to happen in New Salem by these reoccurring fits that they were having, Their was about one hundred and fifty people that ended up being accused and supposedly the girls were still being “tormented”. It was said that If someone didn’t like someone else or had a dispute with them in the past that they would accuse thrme of being witches to get them tried and possibly killed, on that note maybe their was an evil around because everyone was so mean and nasty to each other. When the so called Demon attacks started to subside people thought of it as victory of god over the devil. Most didn’t even know or care in New England it wasn’t even talked about so New Salem was pretty much on their own, But they should be because it was obvious that it was a fluke and should have been dealt with differently. Most people after hearing about the drama and hearing everything that happened thought that injustice was served because of the the people that were hung for being so called witch’s., If everyone that was accused of something was hung there would be no one left on this earth. The way they handled this was extremely dumb and whoever had the idea should have been hung themselve’s because clearly all the people hung were not witch’s. I think what the New Salem Witch Trials should have been investigated to the evidence that led all those people to be hung and so
