There has always been people that do not like America and there always will be. America has been attacked by many different groups of people, but one really sticks out, that is Al Qaeda. On September 11, Al Qaeda had really drawn the last straw. On this day our country suffered from terrorist attacks that killed more than 2,000 people in just two states. Although the United States suffered from an economic downfall from the attacks of 9/11, the event proved to be a horrific life changing day for many Americans causing the nation to take better measures in national security. In (1939) The New York World Fair included an exhibit called the World Trade Center that dedicated to the concept of “world peace through trade”. When the building was completed in 1972, the towers accommodated 50,000 workers and had 200,000 daily visitors in 10 million square feet of space. The World Trade Center was believed to be proof of New York’s belief in itself. The towers looked very similar and were called the Twin Towers. A rather large side effect was the security. After 9/1,1 the Government formed new agencies to keep control of what goes on in American so this kind of thing doesn't happen again, which obviously doesn't work. Shortly after the attacks, the government created TSA, and on November 19, 2001, Congress passed the Aviation and Transportation Security Act, which is the reason you have to show up a few hours early to the airport and take off your shoes as you pass through security and can't bring liquids on the plane. After these attacks the trust in government hit a peek, but shortly later in 2008 recession, wars in Afghanistan and Iraq had knocked the trust down (International Business Times, n.d.).
