While Dr. Jekyll is technically both personas, I think that he is a good person with good intentions. Dr. Jekyll created Mr. Hyde to unleash the suppressed feelings he kept inside; he was now free from social contract, could overindulge in dark urges, and was free from moral consciousness. Dr. Jekyll successfully separated evil from his body, but his intentions of purifying his body failed.{{thesis statement needed as the last sentences. Throughout Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, a wide variety of decisions are made that cause a wide variety of different events. By the end of the play, the main characters for whom the play is named are dead. The direct causes of death are simple, Romeo a poison and Juliet a dagger, though the sole person to blame for their deaths is not quite as straightforward. All throughout the play, Friar Lawrence assists Romeo and Juliet with their romance and their plans for marriage. He seems to have good intentions, he mostly wants to end the feud between the lovers’ families.
Humans are pawns of fate, where they have no control and are bound to their demise. In society this is portrayed as luck, where a person can have no control over their future and can merely hope for the best. This idea is shown in the play, Romeo and Juliet, where the author, William Shakespeare, characterizes the idea of fate. Two protagonists, born into opposing feuding households, are star-crossed lovers doomed by their unfortunate circumstances. Regardless of Friar Laurence’s instances of mediocre planning, Lord Capulet and Lady Capulet are most to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s demise, due to the incessive pressure placed upon Juliet for marriage, and the feud they actively participated in.
