War is caused by poor, political decisions, appeasement, fight for land and power, and the conflict between countries. At the end of WWI, The Treaty of Versailles was signed to end all wars. The countries involved in WWII were the allies and axis. The allies were the US, China, Britain, and France. The axis were Germany, Japan, and Italy. WWII was important because it caused 60 million casualties. Starting in 1939, several countries around the world plunged into the second world war due to the appeasement of Germany, the political powers decisions, and Hitler’s One of the causes of WWII was the appeasement of Germany. In document 6 it states, “ I asked Britain together with France and other powers, guarantee the security of Czechoslovakia. If that course had been followed, events would not have fallen into this disastrous state… responsibility must rest with these who have control of our political affairs.” If the political powers would have made the decision to protect Czechoslovakia then things would not have gotten out of hand and led to war. In document 9 it states, “ had done nothing that any major power considered dangerous enough to warrant precipitating [starting] a major European war. ” The political powers ignoring Hitler because anything that he did, did not seem dangerous enough. They could have prevented the war if they had stopped Hitler from the beginning but they did not. In document 2 it states, “ After Italy attacked Ethiopia… emperor of Ethiopia, asked the League of Nations for help in stopping the invasion. He asked for military sanctions but the League of Nations’ response was ineffective.” If the League of Nations would have decided to help Ethiopia to stop Italy from invading, Italy would not have gotten any power. If the invasion was prevented, it would have prevented war because of the fact that Italy wouldn’t have gained any power but they did.
