The Mongolian Empire was the biggest empire in history. This was the same empire that Genghis Khan once ruled. The Mongols ruled this area from
1206 to 1368. The Mongols had a strong military and military tactics. Even though they were a great empire they were also very destructive. They killed over
5.5 million people in their conquest for land. The Mongols were very good at fighting. Many towns and their people were destroyed in the Mongol’s conquest for land. The Mongols expanded in many ways but through their expansion there was destruction. The Mongols had a great empire but they had a grave impact.
They should be remembered for the destruction they caused.

Mongols destroyed entire cities. They slaughtered everyone, men, women, children, and animals. Even when people surrendered, they would keep a few artisans as slaves and kill the rest with an axe. In one of their battles, the
Mongols gathered the heads of those they killed and piled them up, one pile for men the other for women and children. Women and children were forced to go with the men to battle, which left them vulnerable to a brutal death. “All men over the age of 14 were expected to undertake military duty” (RTM2 Document B).
The Mongols trained their men at a young age so they could become great warriors. The boys were taken from their families and forced to join the military.
There were few exceptions for them to not join. There is a highly likely chance that they would be killed in battle and their families wouldn’t see them again. In addition to being strong warriors, used ruthless strategies to win battles. “If one or two or more go forward boldly to the fight, then the rest of the ten are put to death if they do not” (RTM2 Document C). The Mongols also used smart tactics to weaken their enemy so their attack could be easier. They used high powered weapons to kill. At night they didn’t stop fighting. They split themselves into groups and took turns fighting so they wouldn’t get tired. The

Although the Mongols destroyed many cities and families they should still be remembered for their expansion. Genghis Khan conquered two times the amount of land than Alexander the Great and four times more than Adolf Hitler.
