CB&S Bank is a well-established 111 year old financial institution head quartered in Russellville, Alabama. The bank was incorporated as Citizens Bank and Savings Company on February 28, 1906 and opened its doors for business on March 3, 1906. The Bank is closely-held, with one family representing a majority ownership. As the bank expanded, it was continually faced with identity issues due to similar named banks - Citizens Banks. Therefore, on March 3, 2008, Citizens Bank and Savings Company officially changed its name to CB&S Bank. As a result, we began to expand beyond our traditional markets, moving into larger cities and crossing state lines. In 2000, CB&S Bank entered the Mississippi market, and in 2006, we expanded into Tennessee. Today the Bank is a $1.65 billion community bank, operating over 50 locations throughout Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee markets over 500 employees. While the bank does have locations in several larger markets to include: Huntsville, Birmingham, and Murfreesboro; most of the bank’s market area remains rural with fewer than 30,000 residents. The bank has found that small niche in those rural markets that allow us to maintain the quality of loans desired while operating as a community bank. Due to the larger metropolitan areas, the bank has expanded its portfolio mix in major lines of business with emphasis on commercial real estate.
