My favorite character from the novel Night Circus is Celia Bowen because she is persistent in what she wants from life. Also, the way she holds herself with such elegance and grace throughout her entire life. Bowen knows that she is just as capable of being a magician as any man, and she knows that she can be so much more than someone's assistant. Celia is strong willed and understands that she can achieve anything and everything.
One incident that shaped the novel was when Bailey's sister dared him to break into the circus during the day, and he met Poppet who gave him one of her white gloves. She sparked his love for the circus. After his love of the Circus began, he would wait for the circus to return back to his hometown years later. Where he would become friends with Poppet and her brother, Widget, and help to save the circus from shattering like glass.
With the novel being set in the late 1800s to the early 1900s, it gives the novel a sense of wonder and adds an element of magic because none of us were alive during that time period. Marco and Celia were able to be with each other by leaving their physical bodies and attaching their souls to the circus. With having their souls linked to the circus, they would travel everywhere with the circus for as long as the circus exists. When Marco left his body, he needed someone to help him keep the eternal flame alive. Bailey was that person to help Marco. Which was great since Bailey’s true love the circus and everyone in it.
