In the book Fahrenheit 451 Bradbury states, and his hands were the hands of some amazing conductor playing all the symphonies of blazing and burning to bring down the tatters and charcoal ruins of history (Bradbury 1). This shows what it is like to be a part of the industry that is censoring people's thoughts and stories. It also means that Montag did enjoy what he did as a fireman, burning peoples thoughts away into ashes. However, it is important to recognize the importance of promoting open dialogue and the free exchange of ideas, even when they might be provocative. When it comes to censorship in books, it is a complex topic with different perspectives in any situation.
