The Greek monster, named Cerberus, is a three-headed dog that guards the entrance to the Underworld. He only allows dead to enter and does not let any leave. Cerberus, besides the three heads, also had a serpent tail and the claws of the lion. Some say that he even had a mane of snakes! He was Hades most beloved pet, but it is said that Hades did not play with him like he was supposed to. Cerberus is the child of Typhon and Echidna. His father, Typhon, was also a monster. Cerberus was mentioned in the story of Heracles about Heracles being ordered to capture Cerberus without using any weapons and he was to bring the dog back to King Eurystheus. It is still debated on how big Cerberus was. Some say that he was a gigantic hellhound while others say that he was the size of a normal dog, maybe even a petite dog.
