Imagine going from a very poor, uneducated immigrant farmworker to becoming the leader of the National Farm Workers Association for the United States of America. This is exactly what Cesar Chavez accomplished in his very short, hard-fought life. He devoted his entire adult life to helping the farm workers of this country and by doing this became a famous civil rights activist and leader. Cesar Chavez was born March 31, 1927, Yuma, AZ. He lived with his two sisters and his mom and dad. His family had a small farm, and ran a country store. As the Depression increased and the years of drought forced thousands off the land, and his family lost both their farm and store in 1937. So that’s why now he was known for being a great labor leader. Chavez saw how fast did twenty-five days past to protest the increasing advocacy of violence within the union. Ever since then he had all the farm workers on his side and always had a chance to show them what was right and what wasn’t. Also he had become a Civil rights leader Chavez had always went against the people that were mean and also rude and had no heart how they would treat every single farm workers just because they didn’t know how to defend themselves doesn’t give any right for them to treat them like animals. Chavez also had promised to end the cycle of misery and exploitation and ensure justice for the workers. These promises however proved to be short lived as grower opposition and a series of hostile governors undercut the effectiveness of the law.
