Recommended: Method for data collection and analysis

Data Collection Procedures The population for this replicate study will be defined as all pastors, chairmen of the board, and lay board members in the Wesleyan Church throughout the United States. The target population for this replicative study is defined as all pastors, vice-chairman of the board, and lay board members of the 147 Wesleyan Churches in the state of Michigan. The sample for this replication study is defined as all pastors whom served at least three years at their current church, the vice-chairman of the board and two lay board members chosen by the pastors in the three Michigan Districts of the Wesleyan Church. The vice-chairman of the board is specified because they lead the Local Church Board and is the highest-ranking lay leader; all other board members are equal in their position. Preliminary permission has been received from the Wesleyan Church and from the district superintendents of the Michigan …show more content…

A G-power analysis has been run and a minimum of 129 participants are needed to conduct this research, using four participants from each church means 33 churches will be needed to participate. Each participant will need to complete both instruments and all four participants will need to complete both instruments in order for any of the four to qualify for the research. If any one of four individuals, to a specific church, does not participate then the data from that church will not be used. Pastors will be provided an incentive to help motivate them to get their lay leaders to participate. Research proposal will be sent to IRB for review.
