The caste system existed in India from time of the Aryans but as Muslim populations began to enter into the region and take control, the caste system underwent changes. In the 11th century the caste system adapted to include the Muslim populations into the hierarchy.
In India they only religions they used were Buddhism and Hinduism until they began to use Islam due to them establishing trade cities.
Sub-Saharan Africa
Christianity maintained its strength within Axum/Ethiopia even with the spread of Islam into East Africa. Even the threat from the Muslim state of Adal did not change the beliefs of the Axumite/Ethiopian people.
Slavery was in Sub-Saharan Africa and they were used by merchants who used the Indian Ocean Trade Route.
The Bantu language was changed into Swahili after Islam was brought into West Africa through trade. Bananas came from Southeast Asia to Madagascar and began to find there way to the mainland, into Sub-Saharan Africa.
