I guess it’s not just the European or American didn’t want to give the African any credit for what they had accomplished before everyone else. The best thing about this chapter is that it didn’t only talk about the African being only slaves, but it also tells us how the African used to rule India and how the Indian used to feel about African. I think this is the only book I ever read for a class that talks about African being a superior group who isn’t only a trader, but also a ruler. I am not going to lie I don’t like taking any classes about African because I feel like they always teach us about slavery and how helpless the African were in the past. The school system never teaches us anything positive about Africans, the only positive thing they teach us about African is how they gained their independence from the European. However, this chapter changed my attitude toward African, now I gained some knowledge about African that is positive and it doesn’t make the African look weak. So, I do think that this chapter did accomplish its goal, which is to bring awareness to its reader Africans are more than just a slave. Furthermore, another thing that made this chapter amazing is that it talks about architectural and artistic legacies of Africans. It is very rare to see an educational book talking about African playing
