In my text, I did not detect any patterns of word usage, word order or other patters. I did find an instance parallelism in my text. In verses nine and ten, it states, “and returning from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. Now it was Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles.” When you look at these verses, one notices that the women “told all these things” to eleven and the rest. This phrase or a similar phrase bracket the names of the women who witnessed the angels. I think this is significant because it not only emphasizes the importance of the disciples being told about the resurrection, but focuses on who told the disciples. …show more content…

As we look at the block diagram the independent clauses to the left that give us a brief statement and the text indented, dependent clauses, gives the reader more detail and insight into what the author is trying to portray. If you look at verse three, “but when they went in, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.” Luke could have just stated that they did not find the body. Before this set of verses, Jesus was crucified and buried (23:26-56). We knowing the context could assume that it is Jesus’ body who is missing, but Luke specifically states whose is missing. We also find in verse six, that the messengers of God told the women, “Remember how he told you, while still in Galilee…” This is a simple general statement that the author recorded and added a specific place that Jesus predicted his death and resurrection. It is recorded that Jesus predicted this many times in the Gospels (Jn. 2:18-22, 10:17-18; Mt. 12:39-40, 16:21, 27:62-64; Mk. 8:31). In Luke alone, he predicts his death three times (9:21-22, 44-45, 18:31-34). This detail helps the readers understand that Jesus not only predicted his death in front of his disciples or the Pharisees, but did so in the mists of women and other
