Recommended: After The Dark movie analysis

Does surviving really matters more than "living"? This question, I suppose, became the game-changer of my chosen character of the film After the Dark who is Petra. As has been introduced as a smart student in the class, objectivity over subjectivity became the guide principle of her on dealing and deciding of who will be chosen to stay outside the bunker while an apocalypse will about to happen. Going to the scene of the first round became the battle ground zero for her in sorting the best and most deserving profession to have the limited slots in order to survive. Her first decision to let Mr. Zimit out of the bunker seemed a very risky move since they have no further background about Mr.Zimit and his supposed contribution to the survival. …show more content…

Even though it's not James, who is her boyfriend, she acted and remained focus on the one true and unified goal which is to survive and come up with a new set of individuals in the world after the apocalypse. Zimit “Being smart isn’t everything.” The way Petra think and act are more of very idealistic and full of meanings. These meanings seemed tangling but later on it can be realized as a good one. Petra does not only justified the best way to survive in an uncertain world but she also emphasized the essence of living a life in a not so intricate way in which every aspect of being human was considered. Her philosophy or can be said as realization can also be viewed as the most suitable and exemplary character to survive and live the very best way to have a life well lived with the simplicity of understanding and great acceptance to the ends of everything that will be happening around. A game changer in this situation is not really the most intelligent person having less consideration of attaining a satisfied life but rather the person like Petra with a sense of confidence in her decisions that the latter choices of hers suits the contentment and peace of mind that whatever time, the world may take her life, she’s ready to accept the outcome of the option that she had chosen and it is to live with the people that are imperfect yet trying to not just survive but also live until the end the that fate had noted them to live and she shares with this
