Having read up till Chapter (___), the one character I sympathize with is Jack Merridew. Supposedly he’s the one who’s innate savagery got the better of him, but how he single-handedly lead many littlenuns to inflict pain and suffering on the others surrounding him without adults caused me to be dejected and felt awful. A psychologist once mentioned; ‘The line between good and evil is permeable and almost anyone can be induced to cross it when pressured by situational forces.’ Due to the fact that there weren't any adults to keep the children in place on the island, Jack was overwhelmed and was blinded by the power that he have held amidst the children.
