The star being diagnosed is the current president of the United States Donald Trump. The clinical disorder Mr. Trump appears to be suffering from is Narcissistic personality disorder considering that he has all of the 9 traits in the checklist for narcissism, a grandiose sense of self importance combined with a fantasy that he can make America great again which plays into the fantasy of success, has always associated himself with other rich people, requires excessive admiration, feels that there should be automatic compliance with his expectations, has been shown to be exploitative which was shown when he paid an illegal immigrant to endorse him, a lack of empathy, a belief that others are envious of him, and the last one shows arrogance, all these traits are further explained in the diagnosis of …show more content…

Diagnosis: A narcissist is classified by these core traits: Lack of empathy, constantly looking down on others, and finding pleasure in hurting others. Of these core traits Mr. Trump exhibits two which are the lack of empathy and constantly looking down on others both of these traits have been observed when he made his comments regarding Mexicans, Syrian refugees and women another example of lack of empathy was when he mocked disabled news reporter Serge Kovaleski. The mocking of that reporter also shows that Donald Trump is a bully however it does not prove that he is sadistic therefore of the 3 core traits of NPD he only truly exhibits lack of empathy and low views of other people while seeing himself as a grandiose powerful wealthy man that should be respected. Other traits of NPD that Donald Trump exhibits are manipulation for his own gain, a sense of grandiosity, constant need for attention which might explain his sporadic behavior and comments, and constant lying, however
