Scout and Jem receive a moral education from their father Atticus. Atticus is a lawyer so he deals with a lot of things were you just simply must tell the truth to people which is exactly what he does to his kids. Atticus teaches his kids to be confident and support what you believe in. He also teaches the kids that everyone is equal and all have the same rights. His kids learn from him because they know he is wise and Scout and Jem follow his ways. Atticus told Scout early on in the book that in order to understand people you must, “…climb into his skin and walk around in it.” which is just one of the many things he taught his children (39).
