Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird has captured the hearts and minds of countless individuals with its engaging writing and beloved characters. The father character, Atticus, portrays a man who goes against the ideas of society in protecting what is right. Sticking by his roots, Atticus gives great examples of what a father should do. In defending Tom Robinson, Atticus plays a crucial role throughout the story. Atticus possesses patience, the sympathy of understanding, and a heart for justice. Atticus embodies the character trait of patience. Despite the stressful situations that continue to arise throughout the story, this humble lawyer remains composed. “I ran to Atticus for comfort, but he said I had it coming and it was high time we went home.
