In the novel, Full Cicada Moon by Marilyn Hilton, Stacey LaVoie, one of the characters may seem like a minor character, but she is very important to the story. I think that she demonstrates the following character traits; I think that she is carefree, and I think that she is friendly. You will find out why I think that way while reading my essay. Harry Gerard Bissinger wrote a non-fictional book entitled Friday Night Lights. Bissinger created this non-fiction book in 1990. “Bissinger , also known as Buzz Bissinger, is an American Pulitzer Prizewinning journalist and author, best known for his non-fiction book Friday Night Lights” (Wikipedia, 2017). Bissinger was inspired to write Friday Nights Lights while he was attending Harvard College. He wanted to write a book based on a small town high school football program.

He was treated just like any other black person. He endured racial slurs and his grades dropped as a result of him not helping the football team anymore. The teachers did not want to help him because he was of no use for them and their football team. Boobie soon realized that he should have focused on school more. Boobie Miles is a national ranked athlete in football who plays the linebacker position and wants to be noticed instantly at the college he chooses next year. In football, at linebacker you must be able to be a great tackler and be the smartest on the field in order to excel pass other athletes. Boobie needs to work on his strength in order to become the best linebacker he can be so he can make even higher
In the Netflix-based TV show, Friday Night Lights, Tim Riggins is a fullback/running back for the Dillon Panthers of Dillon High School. The show takes place in the fictional small town of Dillon, Texas. This town is all about Friday night and high school football. Each of the football players have unique characteristics and come from diverse backgrounds, that somehow work cohesively, to make a state-championship winning football team. Tim lives with his older brother, Billy.
Boo's true nature is different from what Scout has expected. The story reads, "I led him to the front porch, where his uneasy steps halted. He was still holding my hand and was showing no signs of letting go" (Lee 278). Scout realizes that Boo is not like the rumors she has heard. He was an anxious man who did not like social interaction, but Boo was a gentle giant.
When things happened in the town, they blamed Boo for it. For instance, " when people's azaleas froze in a cold snap, it was because he had breathed on them." No matter what the situation was, he was the one to blame. Even Jem, who has never seen him, was judging Boo because of all the rumors that the town people said about him, like how Jem says he "dines on raw squirrels and any cat he can catch." He even goes on to say how he looks like, "a long jagged scar that ran across his face; what teeth he had were yellow and rotten; his eyes popped, and he drooled most of the time.

Due to Boo’s acts of kindness like when he returned Jem’s pants sowed after he got them caught on the barb wire fence while he was snooping and around and also the gifts he left in the knot of the tree that helped him build a deeper sentimental relationship with Jem and Scout even if the kids did not know it. Boo had built such a relationship with them that he had done something extremely courageous and protects Jem and scout from Bob

This movie tells a story about 5 football players, their coach and their hometown, which idolizes them. The theme I get from Varsity Blues is about goals and heroes.
The year is 2016 and American society is open-minded to so many issues, except televised stereotypes. Racial and gender stereotypes are continually reinforced by social media and television, it has played a major role in the way society views one another. Enabling stereotypes that have been associated with a person of specific race or gender in the media promotes prejudice. Meaning society expects that person to act a certain way based on what they have witnessed on television or social media. . A perfect example of how television shows incorporate stereotypes based on ethnicity is the tv show “Everybody Hates Chris “which is about a working class African-American family that lives in a poor urban neighborhood in New York.
Boo is “mentally challenged”. This handicap keeps him from being able to read, write speak properly. This handicap forces him to live with his emotionally abusive parents. This handicap makes him even more “different” than other men in society. Him hiding away makes people think he’s evil and scary.
After witnessing Jem, Scout, and Dill acting out his rumored “life story”, I infer that it must have been very weird and uncomfortable for Boo to be so close to “his children” when they were the ones who supposedly made fun of him. Emotionally he is struggling because he is overwhelmed by the fact that he is always a hot topic of the town, and the trio acting his story out didn’t make him feel any better. In the poem “Caged Bird” by Maya Angelou the last stanza is written “The caged bird sings/ with a fearful trill/ of things unknown/ but longed for still/and his tune is heard/ on the distant hill/ for the caged bird/sings of freedom.” Boo Radley
In the story Boo Radley plays the role of Scout and Jem’s guardian angel. He watches over them and helps them when they get into trouble. In the first chapters, the kids make fun of Boo, they taunt him. All they know about him is what they have heard, that he is a crazy man. Throughout the story though, Boo proves them wrong.
Decide how the relationship between Scout and Boo Radley evolves providing sufficient evidence In ‘To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee, Scout develops a strange relationship with a mysterious character, Boo Radley. Scout, Jem, and Dill are interested in Boo Radley because of the mystery that dominates around him and the Radley house. The town people poorly judge Boo Radley and hearing stories from Miss Stephanie Crawford frightens Scout and Jem. Although the relationship starts out as fear and mystery, as time passes, Scout begins to realize that Boo isn’t the monster they described him as, he is rather a nice and caring person.
