Dallas Winston Some people are very friendly and comforting their whole lives. Some people need a traumatic experience to change the way they act and others will never change who they are or what they do. Published in 1967 The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is full of dynamic characters who learn a metamorphic lesson in life. They also learn how much they need to support one another. In The Outsiders most people thought Dallas Winston would never change. In fact, they probably didn't think he could. Dallas learns that he is loved and he realizes how important his family is to him but how he reacts is what matters. He might be a rowdy teenager however he is a very important character who supports the development of others.
