Reveals about situation: Holden is very angry, and the reader can tell that the statement was said in an angry tone compared to his usual sarcastic and nonchalant tone. Also, after Sally tells him how his statement upset her, he laughs at her: “All of sudden I did something I shouldn’t have. I laughed” (p. 149).
