In Maniac Magee, the book, by Jerry Spinelli, Earl Grayson is revealed through the lens of great writing, to be a magnanimous old man. Jerry Spinelli first exposes Grayson to be a magnanimous elderly man on page 45, where Earl is kind hearted enough to get young boy maniac some drinks and a zep. This demonstrates Grayson being magnanimous because he is willing enough to spend his own money, on his own time, to buy a good meal for a total stranger. The author second revealed Grayson to be magnanimous on page 49, whereas Grayson and the young boy, Maniac, were finishing the krimpets just as they got to the Bandshell. Although, as Grayson went inside, dinner was mentioned, so Maniac all the sudden became serious and said, “Where to?”
It took Maniac quite a long time to convince Amanda to let him borrow a book, and when Amanda did, she made sure Jeffery
In the book, Maniac Magee, Jerry Spinelli uses descriptive details, and actions to develop the main character, Maniac Magee. Jerry Spinelli developed Maniac to seem to be a very helpful person in the book. When maniac was living with the beales and Jerry Spinelli made Maniac do this action, “He carried out the trash…” This action showed that Maniac was a helpful person because he was helping Mrs. beale around the house. The next action that Mr. Spinelli gave maniac that showed Maniac was a helpful person was, “ mowed the grass, cleaned up his own spills…”
IN the horrid times of the Jim Crow Law one man made an impact to help stop racial tension, and that man is Jackie Robinson. One boldly stated example to show how Jackie robinson help stop JimCrow is, “The nation was divided at first. Many whites and nearly all blacks applauded the move and said it was long overdue. But a large number of whites, including many major league baseball players, objected to his presence.” This example boldly presented how Jackie was able to try and overrule the jim crow law and help overcome segregation, another example to prove how Jackie Robinson helped end segregation and end the Jim Crow Laws is, “Robinson 's action had repercussions far beyond the sports world.
Book Report “Maniac Magee” is a graphic novel written by the prestigious author, Jerry Spinelli, and it was first published in the year 1990. It follows the story of an orphan boy searching for a home in the fictional town of Two Mills Pennsylvania. The book also focuses on themes of racism and homelessness. It has also won many awards, including the John Newbery Medal. Jeffrey “Maniac” Magee was a normal and average boy until the age of 3, when his parents tragically died on a car crash and he was forced to live with his Aunt Doc and Uncle Dan, who hated each other and wanted to share everything.
In the story, Maniac Magee Jerry Spinelli really developed collaborativeness for Maniac throughout the book. One reason Jerry Spinelli showed collaborativeness is when Maniac met Amanda and Maniac started to collaborate with her, the first thing Maniac said was, “are you running away?” Maniac started to talk to Amanda about how he was running away, and why she had a suitcase. Maniac had no clue who Amanda was, and if Maniac kept running during that scene the story would of went a whole other way.
Feeling as guilty as a bloodied knife for all the torment this sweet family went through, Maniac soon skipped town, while Amanda stayed home. Following many other adventures, the orphan wound up living in the official local zoo’s buffalo pen. Every reader of Maniac Magee acknowledges Amanda impatiently waited for Maniac to come home with her. Nevertheless, many disagree whether Jeffrey should, or should not, have returned home with Amanda.
In the story Maniac Magee, Jerry Spinelli (the author) had created a character, Amanda. I know, from the story that Amanda is high handed because of her actions. First of all, I understand how Amanda is high handed where when she was yelling at Maniac. He wanted to leave and run because someone said something that hurt Maniac inside. She was being very high handed because she told him that what a random guy said was not true and she wanted him to stay.
While Maniac was reading the book that Amanda leaned to him, a bully named Mars Bar came and tried to snatch the book out of maniacs hands but the only thing he snatched from Maniac was Amanda's trust. He ripped out a page of the book. It took Maniac forever to get that book from Amanda and as soon as Amanda came over she believed what Maniac said when he told her what happened. Amanda was stood up for Maniac and told Mars Bar to leave Maniac alone. Amanda was very friendly to maniac while he was living at his house.
Cathy Ames has been criticized because she is completely evil. It has expressed throughout the novel that Cathy is inhuman. She has no emotion, no feelings, and no good in her. Many state that she is a symbol for Satan or a witch, who is pawn of Satan. People go so far in declaring that she is one of these evil spirits because even from birth she was filled with extreme evil and darkness, lacking characteristic that make up a human.
Comprising the motif of animals into Macbeth ameliorates the use of characterization, creates foreshadowing, and evokes emotion. While laminating over the absence of her husband, Lady Macduff compares herself to a “poor wren” who portrays “The most diminutive of birds,” (4.2.9-10). Shakespeare’s pitiful description of Lady Macduff illustrates the full extent of her isolation, impotence, and vulnerability. In addition to exemplifying the use of characterization, Lady Macduff foreshadows the death of her and her son. Prior to her death, Lady Macduff states to Ross: “The most diminutive of birds, will flight,/ Her young ones in her nest, against the owl” (4.2.10-11).
Fruitvale Station is based on a true story that occurred in Oakland, California in 2009. Oscar Grant III was unarmed and lying face down on a subway platform. He was shot by a white Bay Area Rapid Transit Police Officer. This movie is about what we can imagine when we cast our gaze across the longstanding divides in this segregated American society. Oscar Grant was a real 22 - year old man.

Shakespeare, like any other man in the 16th and 17th century, saw ambitious and dominant women as evil and even disturbing or disturbed. From Macbeth, we can see Shakespeare feels women should be challenged and punished because they are trying to change society. Nowadays these ambitious and dominant women are regarded as brave and respected because of their ambition, such as Lady Macbeth’s ambition to become Queen. Shakespeare presents Lady Macbeth as mentally disturbed.
ADELE’S POV Lately I’ve been sexually frustrated. Simon and I usually have sex almost everyday, however we got in a fight and haven’t had sex in a week. I’ve continued on with my daily routine and worked on writing my songs. Bruno Mars and I were working on writing “All I Ask” when I noticed him staring at me every time I got up.
