Describe how a character changes in the film ‘Remember the Titans’. Explain why this occurs. In the movie ‘Remember the titans’ directed by Boaz Yakin the character Gerry Bertier is a football player who plays for T.C Williams football team playing defence, but after winning 3 championships Gerry and the team is faced with their toughest challenge yet. Gerry’s attitude changed over the course of the movie from not getting along with his African American teammates to calling them his brothers. Gerry’s did not like how he was going to be playing with black players but he especially didn’t like having a black coach to much either. A character in the film he really doesn’t get along with is a guy named Julius Campbell a very talented defender. Things get off to quite a rough start because Julius and Gerry always are always arguing and is shown when Gerry says to Julius “Your nothing a but pure waste of gods given talent, you don’t listen to nobody man not even doc or Boone, shiver push on the line every time and you ball right past them, push em pull em or do something you can’t run over everybody in this league, every time you do you leave one of your teammates hanging.” This is a true fact because there is no I in team, but Julius responds by …show more content…
This is shown when Gerry and Julius are at a football training and are trying to get an offensive play right and Julius gets past his defender and Sacks Petey. This then sparks a moment with Gerry and Julius, when Gerry goes up to Julius says “Left Side” and Julius replies by saying “strong side”. There is then a close up Julius and Gerry’s face of them fired up and this then creates a moment that brings the football team together as one.
