Odysseus is a Greek hero who never returned home after the Trojan war. Odysseus and his companions are shipwrecked at an island called Ogygia. He is stuck on the island with a goddess who is a witch and she loves him so she is never going to let him leave. Mayhem is happening in Odysseus’s home, Ithica, while he is stranded on Ogygia. His wife, Penelope, and his son, Telemachus, are helpless to stop the people attacking the kingdom. Telemachus has a hard time making the suitors to leave because they are trying to take over the kingdom and he does not want that for the people. Odysseus is shipwrecked on an island after a fight and can’t leave, because he has no way to get to his home. Suitors keep trying to take over the kingdom and it is hard to fight them off because the kingdom does not have many. Athena who is a goddess thinks that Odysseus is still alive so she takes the form of an old friend of Odysseus to help Odysseus and Telemachus. Telemachus finally banned the suitors from the kingdom because Athena told him to. Telemachus went to Pylos and Sparta to seek any news of his father. Penelope who is the wife of Odysseus is always sad because her husband had supposedly died. Athena is still in the form of Mentor and the suitors are wondering who Mentor is …show more content…

Telemachus is leaving to go to Sparta now and Athena revealed her true self and showed she was not Mentor. Throughout this story, Telemachus is told to kick the suitors out of the kingdom by Athena who is taking the form of Odysseus’s friend, Mentor. The suitors of Ithaca want to marry Penelope and Telemachus is very mad at them. Athena and Telemachus go to Pylos to find information about the whereabouts of Odysseus because they believe Odysseus is still alive.
