Sonya Givens is nurse to the First Lady, Mrs. Macaulay, who has been struck by a degenerative disease. Wade and Brant are undercover agents with Wildcats, Inc. Kate is mostly humiliated because of Petruchio’s clothing choice. We see a shift in both their relationship and for each individual due to the change of equality of men and women over time. Before a relationship can begin, two people must meet for the first time. When you think of a gold digger, in terms of relationships, you typically imagine a young girl sucking up to an older man with a large amount of wealth. On the other hand, the movie and the play show us that Petruchio/Patrick’s intentions are solely based on acquiring money.
In “The Sea of Monsters” the three main characters are Percy, Annabeth and Tyson. I believe that Percy is a Capricorn, Annabeth is a Scorpio and Tyson is a Sagittarius. Firstly I believe that Percy is a Capricorn because of he is Brave, Loyal, and Stubborn. He is Brave by accepting an adventure that saves the school, and his mother.

Petruchio understands that Kate has a "...scolding tongue" (1.2.101) even though Hortensio warms him. Due to his incentive to cure Kate of her shrew-ish ways and to get Baptista's money.

He pushes the Priest and drinks the communion wine, afterwards he brings her to his home where his servants try and feed her but he insists that its no good for her, neither the dress she wore and she doesn 't need rest. He’s using the tactic of over loving to beat her into the ground, to wear her to the bone and in a sense it’s getting Kate to respect him and come to terms she is not longer the alpha in the equation. Some may argue that in fact she’s just pretending do please him and shes secretly rebelling in her inner sense, but a person that can barely keep their eyes open has no fight left in them, she wanted to marry Petruchio (cite 2) “... She says she will see Petruchio hanged before she will marry him, but these remarks constitute the extent of her argument. She has the opportunity to say more, but she does not because in fact she wants to be married for she has met her match” Consequently, Kate doesn’t hate or despise Petruchio anymore, she may still have trouble coming to terms with her treatment, its new to her to be put in her place.
This is represented in the movie by the books she reads, music she likes, and the college she wants to attend. Money plays a big role in the plot of both the play and the movie. Petruchio and Patrick both at first only pursue Kate and Kat for the money. Petruchio is interested in Kate for his own benefit so he can have the dowry and property of Kate's father which comes along with marriage.
Kat hated Patrick because she knew Patrick dated her cause of money but she forgive him because she still loved him. Petruchio liked money he said “I came to wive in Padua, If wealthily than happily in Padua”. It is different relationships between Katharina and Petruchio with Kat and Patrick. Katharina and Petruchio didn’t loved each other as a relationship but Kat and Patrick did loved each other. Also there personality was different a bit.
Kate is sworn off by her community while Petruchio gets to share a laugh with the other men, despite having arguably acted worse than her. Shakespeare intended for the viewers of the play to leave feeling guilty about the harshness Kate met; an inequality that is only apparent when done so excessively, especially considering the patriarchal forces in society at that time. Unlike Katherine, many women of that time would not have been given the opportunity to speak and act so boldly without severe punishment. This is when we discover how the men believe the women should be treated. It is also shown at the end when Kate makes her speech about how a wife should be submissive to her man. Such duty as the subject owes the prince/ Even such a woman oweth to her husband;/ And when she is froward, peevish, sullen, sour,/ And not obedient to his honest will,/ What is she but a foul contending rebel (V.ii.7). In this quote, Kate compares wives to subjects of a prince.
Having change our lives is part of human existence and we can go through these changes physically or mentally. Whether you grow a foot taller or are exhilarated by going on a roller coaster, change in our world is evident. Not only do changes happen in the real world, they are also found in pieces of literature. In The Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare, there are many characters that undergo changes over the course of the play.
Petruchio’s servants Grumio and Curtis were very small characters, but were symbols of the wealthy and how the wealthy acted. If you were wealthy during this time period, you had a servant, being wealthy did not necessarily mean that you had to abuse your servants, or treat them terribly, it depended on how they wanted people to see them. Petruchio wanted to present himself as wealthy, confident, and proud, however, he did not want people to know that he was self-centered, and that he was a gold-digger. “Let’s each one send unto his wife, And he whose wife is most obedient To come at first when he doth send for her Shall win the wager which we will propose” (Act 5, Scene 2). Petruchio only wanted money, he got paid to marry Katherine, and knew he would be able to tame her, therefore he bet money with the other men at the end to see who's wife was most tamed.
