“The Minister’s Black Veil” is a short story written by Nathaniel Hawthorne. The story deals with a young minister from a small town of Milford “Mr. Reverend Hooper”. The story eveolves around him wearing the black veil and hiding his face from the people of Milford while he himself can see all the faces around him. Hooper’s fiancé Elizabeth was supposed mary him which she doesn’t after the former hides his face from the public. Still she spends her time taking good care of Hooper as she had some strong feelings for him.
Mr. Revrend Hooper is the protagonist of the story who is displayed as a young preacher in the small town of Milford. one pleasant morning he comes out of his door wearing a black veil which hides his entire face but the mouth and everybody is just surprised to see this act of him. …show more content…

He has a mind that taken over the heart in every decision he makes dealing with love and proffesion . his sense of decency no longer exists and his inquiries in the spiritual world are considered disturbing . he states not to work on superscientific discoveris of potion that would give the drinker an eternal life and turning any kind of base metal into precious metal like gold , he also believes that he is cabaple of proiducing a human beign from nothing . he came up with a poison that can kill a human instantly. According to his journalls all of them stand short in froint of his tall ambition of exercising a godlike control on life. This shows that he desired to turn nature into his slave . Aylmer is a symbol of science and intellect used by the writer to prove his point by not showing much deep deatails of a character of a norml short story . he is presented as a model of cpmplete fiction fiction to show the consequencesof the situation when mindoperates independent of morality. Hawthorne suggests by his work that ambition regardless of morality always results in disaster and death
