Romeo and Juliet

Have you ever encountered a person who is cocky and aggressive? Well in Romeo and Juliet there’s a character named Tybalt. He’s the nephew of Lord Capulet and Lady Capulet and also the cousin of Juliet. Tybalt is aggressive and hates all Montagues but he is loyal. He respects Lord Capulet‘s wish to leave Romeo alone at the party, but his aggressiveness still wants Romeo dead. “ I shall withdraw but this intrusion shall now seeming sweet, convert to bitterest gall”(Shakespeare 1015).
Tybalt has a variety of different character traits. Tybalt is very irrational when he doesn’t listen to Benvolio in Act 1 Scene 1. He doesn’t understand what Lord Capulet is saying at the party and the reason in which he asks Tybalt to ignore Romeo's attendance. He is also irrational when he refused to listen to Romeo and stabs Mercutio. He acts on impulse all the time and never thinks things through. In Act 1 Scene 1 he started the brawl again with Benvolio. Then the Prince yells at them. Also when he stabs Mercutio , he doesn’t think and hence causes Romeo to kill him. …show more content…

Tybalt doesn’t want the Montague’s to ruin anything, he thinks that the Montague’s are evil and he will make sure the Capulet’s are safe from them. “Peace? Peace. I hate the word, as I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee.”(-Tybalt) Tybalt role in the play is a villain, as a Capulet there’s nothing that Tybalt despise more than a Montague.
