Charles Dickens was one of the greatest writers of his time period. He became a literary genius due to key events in his lifetime. The turning points in Dickens’ life shaped the person he became later on and paved the way for his unique writing style. Moreover, the events that shaped his life influenced the way Dickens wrote. Dickens was inspired to write about the important his life-shaping events. One of these life events scarred Dickens for life. At the age of 12 Dickens' father, John, as sent to prison due to being unable to pay off his debt. Dickens' family was sent to live in the prison with John until he paid off his debt, but Dickens had to stay and work at a factory. Dickens had wonderful qualities that were well sought out for as a writer. Dickens was a man who had a fantastic eye for detail. He saw the hidden truth behind things. Dickens had a wonderful sense of perception. This skill benefited Dickens in his job as a journalist and an author. Dickens used this skill to create stories with plot-lines and characters that are eternal. Dickens also had other characteristics that made him a unique writer. Dickens was an incredibly hard worker. Dickens worked hard on everything he did. Dickens’ hard work was not sloppy and messy. Due to Dickens’ determination and hard work, he was able to become a journalist for two well-known newspaper company a few years after becoming an office boy. He also accomplished this at a very young age. Dickens’ hard work shone through his writing. The pieces he wrote were always of the utmost quality and were filled with cleverness and literary devices. Dickens was able to write quickly but efficiently.
