The Dutch tended to enjoy the simple, mundane pleasures of life, therefor hinting at the more prominent use of Realism. The Dutch Republic drew strength from adversity; they profited from trade, political awareness, religious tolerance, wealth, and national pride. The Dutch School Of Realism helped further this movement. However, the political and religious movements were not as prominent in Dutch art. The Baroque Period was an influential, bold, and very impacting art movement in history. The Baroque Period’s elaborate, elegant, and larger-than-life aesthetic was furthered and encouraged by many forces. The forces that powered the art style of this time were religious propaganda, political statements, and cultural movements all the same. The Catholic Church was a power house of influence on the art of this time, and the artists, or the religious aesthetes, who mastered some of the most glorifying religious works seen, were also heavy impacts.
