Charles Manson was a notorious criminal who used manipulation to control a group of people whom he called his “family.” This “family” was made up of a bunch of criminals who would help Manson commit his crimes. Manson used his cult to commit murders and crimes of all sorts. This is how Charles Manson grew up to be one of the biggest and most famous cult leaders of the 1900s.
Charles Manson was born November 12th, 1934, he was born in Cincinnati Ohio. His mother was imprisoned for armed robbery. His father was never in the picture, but he was an acholic. Manson moved in with his aunt and uncle because his mother had went to prison. He was forces to go to school in McMechan, Wv while living with his aunt and uncle.

There were times where Manson would be left alone so his mother could do go benders. Around when Manson turned 10, she would look for foster homes for him. At 13 he was sent to the Indiana boys’ school, where Manson was not only pushed around and bullied by the boys, but he had been raped by other boys at the home. In the next three years Manson had run away 18 times. February 1951 he was 16, he had broken out again but with two of the other boys. Manson then moved to San Francisco and attracted a small group of people to work alongside him. 1968 Manson became the leader of a cult he called his “family.” He preached about the coming of an apocalyptic race war. This “family” he created carried out several murders on Manson’s orders. The most famous victim was an actress, Sharon Tate. Sharon was the wife of film director Roman Polanski. They were killed in their LA home along with three of their guests.
1971 Manson was arrested and was sentenced to death, because if the abolition of Capital punishment in California his sentence was changed to life in prison. Manson became eligible for parole but was rejected in 1978. His murders inspired tons of books and movies. Manson’s cult became national it grew a lot of hatred towards women. Manson had gotten pregnant women killed. He targeted mostly women in his killings blaming all women for the bad parenting of his mother.
All of Manson’s killings he uses his power of manipulation to have others kill for him. He had four people who would do anything for him. They were his four most loyal followers. He would have them carry out his murders. In august 1969 his followers killed seven people. The four most loyal went to the home of the Polanski’s.
