Charlie Chaplin was a household name in the 1920s. Chaplin was one of the most famous actors of his time. Known for his remarkable contribution in the film industry and Hollywood. Sir Chaplin was born on April 16th, 1889, in London, England. He was born into a poor family, that consisted of his mother, Hannah Chaplin and his father Charles Chaplin Sr. His mother and father were also performers however they didn’t earn enough to keep the house running. When Chaplin turned seven years old, he started working, as his father wasn’t providing for his family anymore. Although he worked he still attended school. When he was 18, his mother was admitted into a mental asylum for: psychosis, and syphilis.

From acting, to producing; from directing to composing, Chaplin did a little bit of everything. He was born in a rough time, in a family that wasn’t financially stable, but he still worked for his mother and family, and made a name for himself and his forthcoming family to proudly wear.

What I liked about Charlie Chaplin was that, he was a very influential person during his time, and he was a more moving actor than those who talked in their films. However I didn’t like how he demeaned America, in his book even though he worked in Hollywood for so long. One thing that I have learned from Chaplin is that you don’t need words to communicate, body language is the only language everyone on this planet understands fluently.
