Kinnian says maybe they can make me smart." As well as in the movie Awakenings by Penny Marshall main character Leonard Lowe has been unable to speak and move properly for 30 years.
“The Glass Castle” is a biography, drama written by Destin Daniel Cretton; it portrays a young girl (Jeanette Walls) and her family as they struggle in poverty stricken towns with a mother who is an eccentric artist and her alcoholic father who she blindly puts her faith in. The film was released on August 11, 2017 and features Brie Larson, Woody Harrelson, and Naomi Watts among others. The big question, “What do I think about “The Glass Castle” film? The film was dissatisfying overall, I did not feel same emotional attachment that I felt with the book. They did not show enough of Jeanette and Rex’s connection to each other.
At first, the American colonies were happy to be control by the Great Britain, The British Parliament didn’t bother the colonists very much. However, after the French Indian War, The Great Britain need money to repay a huge debt. The British Parliament said the purpose of the Great Britain to fought the war is to protect the American Colonies from French, so the American Colonies should help to pay the debt for the war. For this reason, the British Parliament has been passing laws to place taxes on the American colonies. However, most American colonists didn’t agree to help the Britain to repay the debt.

Charlie's C.A. Analysis The main character in “Flowers for Algernon,” is Charlie Gordon. Charlie is 37 years old and struggles with reading and writing. Doctors Nemur and Strauss want to perform an operation on him to make him smarter. They have performed the operation only on animals, one in particular was a mouse named Algernon.
In the book Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler, Lauren’s views on the world change throughout the book. When she goes from a safer life than others to living on the streets with no knowledge of what to do, she must reevaluate her beliefs. In the beginning of the book, she is very morally right, but towards the end she does what she must do to survive. As she lived more on the street, her views became more flexible, and she gained a deeper understanding of life on the street. Her views are also heavily influenced by outside forces that she grew up with.

The township of Waknuk has its roots deeply buried in a strict religious system that affects a lot of those who live within it. Charlie Gordon was willing to risk his personality and perception of the world. In the story ”Flowers for Algernon,”by Daniel Keyes, he gets an operation to increase his knowledge. Charlie then starts to improve, but he becomes unhappy. He had learned a valuable lesson, that you shouldn’t change who you are. Charlie should’ve got the operation.
Alice by Christina Henry is a retelling of a well beloved classic but with some very dark twists. The main draw to the book initially was the cover and then I read the book blurb on the back and I fell in love with the ideas put down. Alice has spent 10 years in a mental asylum after the events of the infamous tea party and her only comfort is her friend Hatcher, who she speaks to through a mouse hole. One night a fire breaks out and Hatcher rescues Alice and the two of them runaway from the asylum.

This week, I’m finishing up reading Alexa Donne’s book called The Ivies; the book has 337 pages in it. The most popular girls in school are all aiming to go to different Ivy League schools and these girls are willing to do anything to get into the school of their dreams. The main character Olivia applies to one of the other girls’ schools and ends up getting in, but Avery doesn't.
The movie Charly made in 1968 was based off of the novel Flowers For Algernon by Daniel Keyes. This movie was directed by Ralph Nelson and the characters in this movie are Charly, Miss Kinnian, Algernon, Dr. Strauss, Dr. Nemur, and the 3 guys at the factory. I believe that the movie Charly is a great movie that I recommend others should watch because of its great camera angles and the acting. This movie was about a man named Charly who had a hard time in life and had trouble with simple daily routines and exercises. He raced an intelligent mouse named Algernon who had had the same surgery Charly would soon have.
