Fake ID In the thrilling, mystery novel Fake ID, is written by Walter Sorrels, in this novel the protagonist is portrayed as, Chass Pureheart. She has accompanied her mother for years, changing towns and identities. By now, Chass is familiar with the task of leaving town without of trace, in fact she is so mysterious she doesn't even know her true identity. Once her mother goes missing Chass is thrown in a whirlwind of surprises, she must find out who she is and why people are after her and her mother. In this novel the secrets Chass and her mother keep make them a target for one of the most of dangerous men. Chass is a witty, intelligent, mysterious, clever, and talented person. She must use all these traits to find her mother. Chass unfailingly has a smart witty comment every time she gets caught up in a situation. During her mother’s disappearance, she answered the social worker with the comment, “Allison Pureheart. No middle name either. Chass only wants to find her mom and she knows it’s something only she can do herself. “Sir, I’m not playing a game. I just want to find my mother.” (pg. 142) Having the beauty to fool anyone- even law enforcement, she is able to get away from the cops on multiple occasions. To understand that Chass is secluded and mysterious the author portrays her as the girl that’s always on the run with no identity. Chass shows as if she has a tough appearance but she is actually soft-hearted. Giving the benefit of the doubt to the sheriff's daughter gets her into trouble that will be tricky to get out of. “I knew there was no point in telling him it was his darling daughter who’s done it. It would only make him madder.” (pg. 143), at this moment Chass is about to get arrested for stealing the I.D’s the sheriff's daughter
