The book Cheap Love Living and Loving on less by Carrie Starr and ERV Starr gives us a positive advantage of what to expect if we are out of luck and no hope left in us. This book encourages us to put the work in and take a chance at every open door. While reading this book I felt like I was having a good long conversation with Carrie Starr. My first reaction to this book was that relationship or love stories like this are very rare in today’s world. When we think being in relationship or marriage everything is like a movie with a happy ending. Well not all movies show us the real side of what it takes to build a solid strong relationship or marriage. Without thinking money can never be our answer to our life situation even though it might help in some cases. In Cheap Love it showed what it means to be vulnerable and naked with money or without money. In our mind we have a habit of skipping the hard work, the pain, and the sacrifice we have to make in able to achieve our dreams or our spouse dreams. The things I learned is that relationship or marriage requires us to be honest, to be frustrated with one another, being vulnerable as much as possible and not letting finance get between each other. “Even through adversity, remember love. Even through struggle, remember love. Even through heartache, remember love. Even through confusion, remember love. Even through frustration, remember love.” This quote is by A. elle and I think it really captures what I believe to be true about marriage. We hear love stories from our parents and grandparents how challenging their marriage was at first but looking back they would not change a thing. Honestly I’m jealous at my parent’s marriage and how they agree and disagree without losing interest in each other’s viewpoint. Of course they would always reminded my siblings and me that “we wouldn’t be able to stay strong together if it wasn’t for God and believing in each other.” However being a Christian couples makes a things less complicated. The reason I said that is that both have one strong common ground “GOD” where making decision are reflected based on the common
