San Diego City Beat: A chronicle “I hate cheerleaders” written by Edwin Becker published on April 28, 2004. The author expresses a certain hatred against cheerleading and thinks that cheerleading is not a sport for girls. He further explains why he has this rage about them, first of all, he was not able to date them in high school more likely there was no chance and second of all, he hated the whole cheerleading premise. Why? Because he was told to go “woo woo” when he was not in the mood for it.
There are many reasons why I would like to be a Dynamic Dazzling Dolphin cheerleader. I will be a perfect added benefit, due to my personal belief that most cheerleaders have great attitudes and exemplify a great amount of confidence. I have participated in field and competition cheerleading and both were exciting. At this time I would be honored to put forward the effort to cheer for my school. I work excellent with others, bring great energy, while maintaining a great team spirit.
Competitive cheerleading has been my passion ever since I was six years old, but not until I became an athlete at Kansas City Athletic Cheer did I fall in love with it. Being a part of the highest level team at Kansas City Athletic Cheer, Platinum, meant that cheer would become my entire life. I lived for the hard practices, competing in front of thousands of spectators around the country, and most importantly being a part of something that was bigger than myself. This place was filled with coaches and teammates that unfailingly brightened my day. Whenever I had a bad day or just felt down, it was always my place to go to escape reality and release stress.
It was awesome when my sister’s cheer team Synergy got first place at her cheer competition and won a trip to Orlando, Florida. Then we went to The Mall of America and went to the amusement park and road rides. Then later we went to dinner with all the girls on the cheer team at Dicks Last Resort, i would recommend going here if you're ever at The Mall of America. For the reasons above this trip to The Mall of America was totally amazing.
In 1787, seven key figures known as the founding fathers in United States history came together and wrote the US Constitution. With these intentions, they planned for the more educated, which in this time meant more wealthy, to have more influence on the decisions being made. The way that they laid out the voting system was to listen to the states decisions but if the electoral college, composed of more educated people in society, disagreed with their decision then they had the right to overturn the
On March 11, 2017 the world’s best all-star cheerleading teams will be at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in DisneyWorld for the most prestigious cheer competition of the year. The teams there have qualified by getting bids from regional and national competitions, similar to how gymnasts qualify for large meets by competing well in smaller meets. Throughout the competition hundreds of teams will perform their routine filled with the most elite tumbling and stunting sequences ever performed. The tosses and baskets will be so high that if they were performed in a smaller building the flyers, or girls in the air, would hit the ceiling. The tumbling will be so fast and so powerful that if someone was to radar gun the pass, they would be going over
I unfortunately choked up and didn’t make it on that team. Instead of giving up I choose to keep practicing. I decided to join another team outside of school to improve my skills. My new goal was to make it to my high school cheer team. My new team taught me team skills and with that we were able to win many competitions.

Cheer captains should have a bond with their squad that is exceptionally strong that is a sisterhood. I would never want my squad to be disappointed in me and I would always take their feelings in to consideration to pick the option that would benefit the whole team. Cheer captains should keep their squads honor intact by being the best they can be, encourage the team to keep their grades up, and follow all rules and remind their squad of all rules and consequences for all actions. Additionally being captain would also give me the chance to show that I have very strong leadership abilities.
I have been cheering for five years now. I can not remember the times when I was not a cheerleader, it is hard to imagine myself doing anything other than cheer or simply not cheering at all. I fell in love with the sport and within time, my passion towards it grew even more. Cheerleading consumed my life, it was my only focus. I was fortunate enough to grow up with coaches that pushed me to reach limits I did not even know I had, as well as teammates whom I shared the same passion towards the sport with.
We’re not here to show you high school cheerleading. We’re here to show you the young women and men putting all of their free-time into a stuffy old gym. Trusting each other with their lives and defying gravity. We’re not here to show you the average athlete.
It takes the desire to want to be the best, to try hard and then try even harder, and to never give up! It takes passion and the ability to keep your head up and keep smiling even when things get tough! I will add high-spirited, positive energy, commitment and dedication to the team! I will bring to the team, my skills and passion for cheerleading, my positive attitude and my willingness to work hard and learn new skills. I will bring my commitment and reliability to my teammates and my coaches, so they know they can always count on me.
To be on the cheerleading squad there is a required try out. For the tryout you perform a dance, cheer, and three chants within a small group. The other requirements are that you assemble a cheer and perform it by yourself along with three to four jumps. At my last tryouts I made varsity for football and basketball cheerleading. Another team that I participate in is volleyball.
What is Cheerleading? Many may think it’s a sport that you dress up, apply makeup, slick your hair with a bow, and simply put on a smile, and yell as loud as you can to keep the crowd pumped. Cheerleading includes all those easy and pretty factors, but it is also a sport that you stunt, tumble, and jump. Jumps and tumbling may seem really easy to many people, but there’s more work done than most might think is possible. Stunting is also a major element in cheer, and that’s what really pleases the crowd, but stunting takes tons of work.
Cheerleading has taught me so many life lessons and has given me the opportunity to meet new people from all over the country and learn from their accomplishments. I learned that even after failure one must learn from his or her mistakes and to make those improvements where necessary. It was not about proving those who doubted me wrong, but to give those who had the same desire an example. It also helped me serve as that kind of ambassador for the school. This has helped me look at the world and ask myself what is missing from it that I am able to provide.
