My first reaction involves baking soda, vinegar, and a plastic bag. Pouring in the baking soda and vinegar in a bag will cause a chemical change because a new substance is created. There are three things that occur during this reaction that show that it is a chemical reaction. They are the formation of gas (bubbles), the creation of a new substance, and temperature decrease. Formation of gas is shown when I close the bag as the substances react. The bag expands and there are visible bubbles forming. Next the reaction releases carbon dioxide and creates-a small amount of- water. These are new substances because the original substances involved were baking soda and vinegar.
