Short response #1: As he looked down at his sixth-grade yearbook, he remembered everything he had hated and loved about school. Strange faces played in his thoughts, over and over, like an old newsreel. The unkind glances of school-yard enemies, a harsh contrast to the smiling innocence of their yearbook pictures. In the column next to the giant class photo was a list of names -- those "not pictured.
The school life- Roxanne is in the 7th grade and is already loving the new landscape. She just arrived at Frank Augustus Miller Middle School after a long stint at Woodcrest Elementary. One of the many things she loves about Miller is her schedule, so far she enjoys her 2nd period class, which is Roxanne’s PE class in the morning.
After eating her lunch Stargirl would get up and play her ukulele and started to sing to whomever had a birthday that day. She left gifts on desks in her homeroom. Stargirl’s behavior was very unusual for the other students and they were not friendly and nice to her, but this did not keep her from being herself. The other students found Stargirl’s behavior suspicious. They believe the school’s administration placed Stargirl among them to get them to be more involved.
The Carolina Day Key Middle School went on an overnight in September 2015 at a place called Camp Timberlake for Boys. All of us got to know each other well. On our last day a few of our canoes flipped over while on the French Broad River. One of them was Lacy, Aubrey and Mr. Flamini’s canoe. Lacy and Aubrey’s canoe flipped over when Mr. Flamini tried to clamber in.
Self-identity is something that many young children/teenagers struggle to find, and this can be for a variety of reasons. In Sandra Cisneros’ Eleven, Rachel, the main character of the story, struggles finding her identity due to a lack of self-confidence, this is presented through the red sweater that she is “forced” to come to terms with. Through techniques such as tone, repetition, similes, and a first person perspective, Cisneros presents the theme of finding one’s self-identity to the reader.
Upon entering Lone Jack High School, a visitor sees a mural reflecting a happy and active student body and Mrs. Meyer’s warm smile and pleasant voice greeting them. They think, this place is nice, but after a few more steps, they hit a square walkway that goes off in two directions. One is a long, dimly lit hallway and the other is a short, empty one. The one to the right is filled with the standard blue lockers and a scarce amount of people. The one to the left only connects to two classrooms so there is very few people.
The school year was the same as always. Alex would be the social butterfly while her younger sis, Liz would be the shy caterpillar. The school year went by fast and it was already December. One day, Alex left her diary at school which is very important to her.
The teacher, Ms. Price picks up a sweater and asks the class if anyone is missing a sweater. A student says that it's Rachel's, and the teacher gives her the sweater without even thinking. Rachel thinks and speaks in a way that is very reminiscent of an eleven year old. There is a youthful, innocent tone in her voice, especially when she says “I wish I was one hundred and two instead of eleven” without actually thinking about the disadvantages of being that age. Throughout the day, she references home and how she longs to go home to celebrate with her family and eat cake.
Roosevelt High School located in Johnstown, Colorado a small town. Here we are very prideful of our "old school"; literally we have an old school that is over populated. Well it’s the details that paint the perfect picture, I 've throughout my four-years have enjoyed every moment! It 's shaped the man I am today, when I started my first day freshmen year I didn 't know what to expect. I went with the flow of RHS, which to me was doing what my buddies did.
With her genuine concern for others, Emily Starkweather is not your typical high school senior. A personable and caring student, Emily has proven herself academically while maintaining a steady focus on her future. What stands out most about Emily is how gracefully she has blossomed into a highly mature and focused individual, one who is sure of her future goals and is determined to achieve them. Despite not having a smooth elementary school career, Emily worked to perform well in school, and kept an incredibly positive attitude towards school.
Friday night, around 12:00 am, Mason Stokes and Brian Kasaba were around a wooded, shallow grave area off Clemson road, when they saw the skeletal remains of a body, that was revealed by heavy rain, and eroded soil. Spring Valley Brian Kasaba said, “Mason and I were hungry, but my mom wouldn’t let us use the car, so we decided the walk to the store, and get some snacks. We took the back way to avoid crossing so many roads, and out of nowhere Mason screamed so loud. At first I thought he was messing with me because the area was suspicious, but I looked down and saw a bunch skeleton bones, and we both lost it.’’ With all the rain and flooding went on about five days ago, not many people have been on the roads.
The new Star Wars clothes and the new backpack that Billy and his mom bought made Billy pretty excited about showing it off at school. Today was August 11, Billy’s first day at Blue Chesse Jr high. Billy and his mom saw Billy’s elementary school friends with their mom at the gate so Billy and his mom joined them. The principle announced that the first
It’s Fall term at the Kent School. I’ve been attending there for about three months, and I have only just recently gotten adjusted to my new life for the next four years. In contrast to my old school, this new place is stressful. After strenuous weeks of tests, quizzes, cross country races, and, of course, sitting through chapel, having that Sunday to relax at the end of the week is a feeling I treasure. On these special days, having not much else to do besides homework, my friends and I like to walk into town and have lunch.
After rounding the corner towards the very familiar classroom that he went to twice a week, something felt different. The air felt thinner; the ground felt harder. Drew took a stutter step backwards as he turned the final corner 12 stopped in his tracks. Standing directly in front of him was Sarah and Brandon, discussing something with their voices at a low roar. A variety of facial expressions were thrown left and right, leading Drew to the conclusion that the “schools most perfect couple,” was fighting.
The first bell at Peotone Junior High School rang out at 8:20 a.m. All of the children, grades sixth through eighth, flowed up the stairs like a swift river current. As everyone arrived at their dingy, gray lockers, Coach Matthies, a bald, muscular gym teacher, howled, “Graffiti! All over the lockers!” Moments later, the other teachers scurried into the hallway and read, “Jose is a beast” written in a vibrant pink spray paint.
