Which Chevy is the Chevy for You?

The General Motors company, known commonly as GM, is the owner of many other companies, but the best known and current technological leader is undoubtedly Chevrolet. Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac are the best known, with a few others under the GM name as well. The Chevrolet brand currently produces the most types of vehicles, satisfying many kinds of audiences. While this guide isn’t so much about what brand to choose, assuming the fact that the car buyer has already decided on Chevrolet, there are still dozens of options for many types of customers.

The main focus of an crossover is to strike a balance between driveability and practicality space-wise, mostly in terms of passenger room. A CUV (crossover utility vehicle) handles better than a sport utility or minivan, but maintains most of the cargo and passenger space. It is very practical for a small family, or someone who needs a means of transport for a busier lifestyle without sacrificing the driving experience. Popular models of Chevy crossovers include the Chevrolet Trax and Equinox. On the other hand, a roomy, powerful, and less agile vehicle, such as a full-sized SUV, can be suited for those who buy or move items more frequently than most people do. They have a comfortable amount of passenger space, but typically have a larger rear cargo section than a CUV. This includes everything from the Super Sport Sedan to the ultra-fast Corvette. The Super Sport Sedan is loosely based off of the Chevrolet Impala, with the only difference being a powerful LS 6.2 liter V8 engine, race tuned suspension, and aftermarket brakes. It has all of the refinement of a sedan, while being every bit of fun as a Camaro. It is quite a bit more expensive than a regular Impala, but the extra $20,000 makes for one fun grocery-getter. It isn’t as fuel efficient as the regular Malibu or Impala, but is slightly better on gas than the Camaro, so if being cheaper in the long run is a priority as well as being fast and comfy, this is the perfect sports sedan. Next on the list is a very popular pony car, the Chevy Camaro. Packing a surprisingly powerful 6 cylinder in the base model, or a beefier LS 8 cylinder, it has a relatively short wheelbase, making it a good handler at the track, and the high torque motor allows for great acceleration from a standstill. The interior isn’t amazing, but still outclasses its Ford counterpart, with a more “premium feel” to the accents and design (Motor Trend). It has stiff suspension, which is great for cornering at 80+ miles per hour, but does not offer the same ride as the SS Sedan.
