Eric Schlosser's purpose in writing Fast Food Nation is to inform the American readers that they personally withhold the power to change solve the nation's fast food crisis. Schlosser exerts and Authoritative tone in his passage, "how to do it, which guarantees the reader that demanding the fast food industry to change will yield amazing results. The authoritative tone embodies the reader with a sense of reassurance and safety. Schlosser wants the reader to know that, "Even the anticipation of consumer anger has prompted McDonald's to demand changes from its suppliers" in the past (269). The reader is provided facts that make them believe that they have leverage over the industry.
As we look further into the organizational structure, leadership style, and personality of the two of the leading restaurants in the fast food industry, take note of what sets them apart from one another. First, let’s discuss the history. Both restaurants were founded in the 1940s. Two brothers names Richard and Maurice McDonald made some changes to their pre-existing bbq shop that allowed them to focus on their most popular items and the quality of quick service.

In “Lee’s Eating Alone”, author Daniel Moeser argues that in the poem written by Li-Young Lee, the speaker has come to terms with his father passing away, and the end of the poem leaves the reader with a sense of fulfillment and hope. Moeser analyzes “Eating Alone” focusing on the tone, the pattern Lee creates, how the speaker talks about his father, and how the speaker has accepted the loss. The tone of the poem is overall “grief and loneliness” in stanza one and two (Moeser 118). In stanza one, the speaker is talking about how they pulled the last of the onions and how dead the ground looks (Lee 206). Stanza two continues with the grim feeling when the speaker begins remembering a time with his father out walking by the pears (Lee 206).
