The book I chose to read for the book review was, Chew on This: Everything You Don’t Want to Know About Fast Food. The reason I picked this book because fast food is such a big part of a lot of people’s life. I feel that people in the classroom of school should be more informed about what is in their food and how fast food is taking over American’s life. People don’t notice how bad it is. Advertising for fast food is literally everywhere. There’s a McDonald’s on every corner of a city. I guess you can say it’s convenient and cheap, but, that doesn’t change the fact that the food is horrible for people. In the book Chew on This: Everything You Don’t Want to Know About Fast Food, the authors inform the reader about how bad fast food is and what the food is really made from. Eric Schlosser and Charles Wilson explain how in 2006 Americans spent about $143 billion dollars on fast food. That’s insane. In the chapter “Big” from the book, it’s says that the size of a Coke is now four times bigger than what it was in the past. The size of the hamburger has also increased, before they weighed about 1 oz. today, it’s about 6 oz.
