Introduction Chi Alpha is a component of the Assemblies of God U.S. Missions Department serving students on college and university campuses across the United States. Although organized nationally, local Chi Alpha ministries are formed at the request of an Assemblies of God District Council and with the permission of the campus or campuses on which it operates. Although, we previously pioneered Chi Alpha at the Southeast campus of the Tarrant County College (TCC), there was never a concerted effort to establish Chi Alpha throughout the entire system. Not only does a clearly stated purpose and vision help the leader find the right people, it also creates a sense of shared understanding of Chi Alpha and how potential partners could contribute to achieve the mission. The leader creates a common meaning by articulating this strong mission-vision statement by expressing a clear course of action for people will follow (Dilenschneider, 1992). Paul demonstrates this idea of a visualized mission when he pictures Timothy teaching what he has learned to reliable people who, in turn, pass along what they have learned to others (2 Timothy 2:2). This powerful picture of a multi-generational ministry has been at the core of Chi Alpha for years. Traditionally, this principle has targeted students discipling students. However, the quick turn over of students at TCC calls for a different model; finding and equipping volunteers with a commitment to disciple students on their local campus who can multiply this investment others. The motto, “Be a Leader, Build a Leader”, encapsulates the dual purpose of the TCC Chi Alpha Project to both serve students and empower ministry
