Grew up in a rural area a tiny place named Bird Cove, no roads nor electricity until in the 50th. Gasoline lamps lighted up the darkness of our homes. Wood stoves kept bodies warm during the day and at night. Kept the hungry belly filled to content because families were able to cook daily meals on the
There I was at the Republican River, GoPro on my head. It was the middle of July a hot, humid day. I felt kind of worried that what I wanted to happen wouldn 't happen wouldn 't happen. I had 6 banklines set

As I am quickly approaching the end of my senior, I am looking back at how far I have come since freshman year and everything that Henley High School has helped me accomplish in my life. In preparation for the life that every senior must experience after school, the senior capstone project was put in place to help seniors find out what they would suit them as career and give them some of the necessary tools in achieving that. Part of the capstone was earning service hours at a non profit organization, that can go on a resume. With serving came a facilitator, who guides one’s service, and also the challenges and success of the service itself. To Provide help on future careers, Henley High School also provided an opportunity to take the CIS test
The air was heavy with moisture in the dark room. The sound of fitters pounding water into the tanks was ringing in my ears as I walked to the back of the shop. The tanks were stacked on tall selves that didn’t seem to be able to hold. As I walked, I got more and more existed, and then at the back of the store I saw him. I peered into the lit tank, and into his unblinking eyes.
I loved SeaWorld. SeaWorld had something other parks didn’t have; it had Shamu the friendly killer whale, which I would later find is truly an oxymoron. My parents took me to the ocean all of the time and when I saw the Shamu show at SeaWorld I realized that I too could find a large killer whale, become friends with it, and eventually establish a friendship with the massive whale to stand on top of its mouth while it craved some fish. While my dream of becoming a trainer in Shamus’s tank has sunk, my creative nature is fueled by any visit to the world beyond my classroom.
What if you lie about something to save someone 's feeling being hurt? My little sister growing up had a goldfish. One day we had went on a vacation to texas and we didn’t take it with us of course, but we did let our very much trusted neighbor have a key to our home so they could go and feed my little sisters pet. Two weeks later we came home and the fish was upside, of course i didn’t want her to be sad so I told my parents so they let me and my older sister go by Wal-Mart to go get a cheap fish that looks the same as the other.
Being a rancher 's child can be both a blessing and a curse. It 's a blessing because it creates hard work, ethic, integrity, and good strong values. It 's a curse because you only socialize with animals. We can 't call in sick to work or take a vacation. It is 24/7 for life, we have to keep on working no matter the circumstances because we don 't desert our job.
It was a warm and windy morning in the month of June 2007. I was 7 years old and my family planned a big trip to go to Hershey park. I was so excited it made me want to scream at the top of my lungs. But I didn’t. This trip was going to be the best trip of the summer.
When it comes to the act of fishing, any serious fisherman will tell you that wearing polarized sunglasses is a must, especially for anglers who "sight fish" in any way. This would include ultralight trout fishermen, fly fishermen, many bass fishermen, saltwater flats anglers and generally anyone who want to have the ability to see into the water that they are fishing, rather than having to deal with the glare that is produced by the sun refracting off of the water that you are attempting to catch fish in. The choices when it comes to polarized sunglasses for fishing can be as vast as the options available on a new car, but the fact of the matter is for the serious angler a quality pair of polarized glasses is something that they need to have. The key word in this statement is quality, because every pair of inexpensive ($20 or less) polarized sunglasses that I have ever come in contact with weren 't worth the cheap plastic they were manufactured from. The point is that if a little more money is invested into a quality pair of polarized fishing glasses they will not only look and perform well, they will also last for many years of fishing.
Years ago I went on a family trip to the Bahamas. During the time, my sister and I were twelve and eleven, respectively. It was our first trip outside of the United States, so we had to obtain passports. In the Bahamas, my family enjoyed a variety of activities.
My Trip to Florida It was a cold winter night in Upstate New York. My mom and dad were enjoying a cup of coffee, my sisters were playing video games, and I was editing a few pictures on my computer. My mom brought up the idea of a vacation. She said” We haven’t been on a vacation for a long time”.
Panting, I walked off the floor. Almost immediately, I receive a hug from my coach. I have just completed my last of four events at the 2014 State finals for gymnastics. In order to proceed onto regionals, I needed a certain score. As I turned around to view the scoreboard, tears welled up in my eyes.
When mom said we were traveling to Glacier Bay National Park, I was horrified. I had planned my entire summer from start to finish, and now I had to spend it in the middle of Alaska. I implored her not to go, but she said we would bond with nature. Whatever that means. After spending a day in Glacier Bay National Park, boy was I wrong.
My final stop on my memory tour is down the hall in my parents’ bedroom. I came in here early every morning and woke them up. As I look out the windows, I can see the pool where my sister spent most of her time on an inner tube trying to get as dark as she could, while I would swim along the bottom, looking for my make-believe treasures. At night, the deck became our place to relax and
