Jordan’s presence on the court for the Bulls was immediate. His play was fantastic. Michael won the rookie of the year award in 1984 and led the Bulls to the playoffs. His stat line was incredible for a rookie. He averaged 28 points per game and set the Bulls scoring record with 2,313 points. The Lakers won game one, but Jordan and the Bulls were no match for them as their dominant play continued and they won the next four games to win the championship. Their run was not over. In 1992, Chicago won 57 games and got the first seed in the east. They again, blew through the playoffs to the finals. This time they faced the Portland Trailblazers who were led by Clyde “The Glide” Drexler. These finals were harder than the last as through four games, the series was tied at two apiece. In a decisive game five, the Bulls looked as if they turned back the clock as Jordan scored 46 points to led them to victory. His play carried over into game six and the Bulls won their second championship in a row, due in most part, by Michael Jordan. Chicago was not done quite yet. That offseason, Michael trained strenuously so he and the Bulls could go for their third ring in three years, which has never been done.
