There are seven main roles, as well as additional duties and responsibilities associated with the job of a president. The seven roles include: the Chief of State, which basically requires the president to be an inspirational role model in the eyes of the American public (Scholastic, 1898). Chief Executive, in this role the president decides on how laws are enforced, and he has the duty of appointing officials. The remaining roles are Chief Diplomat, Chief Legislature, Chief of party, chief guardian of the economy, and most importantly Commander in Chief (Scholastic, 1989).
The role of Commander in Chief, requires the president to take charge of all four branches of the military to include: the United States Air Force, Army, Navy and the Marine
