What is Child Abuse? Child Abuse is physical maltreated or sexual molestation of a child. According to www.mass.org , there were multiple ways referring to child abuse. For example: Child neglect, Physical abuse, Shaken Baby syndrome, Sexual abuse and Emotional abuse. In this article it states that “In the United States, four out of four children die as results of child abuse, and three out of four of these victims are under the age of four”. These actions can cause serious damage to a child. It can cause physical or emotional injury to the Childs brain. Child Abuse does not only occur in the home but it also occurs outside of the home. It can come from the child’s parent or it can come from anyone who has any contact with that child. Child …show more content…

When the child is in the care of their guardian, they should have proper shelter, proper medical care, proper supervision, and should be able to feel love. If that child doesn’t have these things, then that’s a sign of Child Neglect. Physical Abuse is when the child suffers from cuts bruises, or broken bones. This normally comes from the parent or legal guardian physically putting their hands on that child in a harmful and aggressive way. Some parents don’t know that these actions can cause serious and often long lasting harm. In most cases it can cause death. Most parents try to lie and say that the child is sick from something else when the real problem is that they have been physically abusing that child. To cover it up, they give their child meds that they really don’t need and it that really damage the child. Shaken Baby syndrome is when the parent shakes the child. Shaking a child can cause serious injuries such as; neck injuries, head injuries, or spinal injuries. Most parents don’t understand the consequences of shaking a baby. Shaking a baby can cause a child to be disabling. It can also cause death due to a neck
