My name if Rebecca Fawns, I’m the new social studies teacher at the middle school and I am so excited to be working with (student). This year will be full of some exciting adventures for your child and I cannot wait to embark on this journey with them.
This year we will be learning about the geography of the western hemisphere of the world, which includes: The United States, Canada, Mexico, and the counties of Latin America. Your student will be learning about not only the physical geography of these countries, but also about the cultures that permeate the regions. These opportunities will come in the form of a video project on the importance of the National Parks System, and a brochure explaining the wonders of our community. These will help your child grown as an effective communicator, a team player, and as a community leader. Also we are planning on having some school field trips such as a trip to Yellowstone National Park, where we will be looking for some amazing parents to help us chaperone the students. If you would be interested keep that opportunity in mind, it will be posted later, on my classroom website when the date draws nearer.

That website will have an up to date homework calendar that your child should check to for questions about homework or missing work.
