People face numerous issues behind closed doors, but one issue that should never be kept locked up is childhood obesity. Childhood obesity can lead to many health problems such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes, asthma, and sleep apnea. All of these health issues are things children should never have to worry about. Children should be concerned about what they want to do during recess, not whether or not their blood pressure has gotten to be too high. In the United States, childhood obesity rates have climbed from 12.4% in 2010 to

Changing a child’s diet is very beneficial to dealing with the problem of being overweight. Many unhealthy foods a child may enjoy can be replaced with a healthier option that is often just as delicious. Another possible solution to childhood obesity is an increase of physical activity, while this may be difficult to do it is very beneficial. Finally, as much as parents may not enjoy doing so, it may be beneficial to monitor what the child is watching online.
At the end of the day, support is so important. Being obese is not easy for a child even when the child does not fully understand. The health risks that come with being obese are very real and very scary. No child should have to go through it alone, but no child should even have to worry about it. That is why childhood obesity is such an important topic in our world today.
The children of the world are the future. Dealing with health problems as extreme as the ones associated with childhood obesity is not something any child or parent should have to go through.
