In order to combat America's growing obesity epidemic, we must educate students about healthy food and unhealthy food, because if students get more knowledge about the food they eat, they can avoid getting Obese by eating junk food and do not do exercises. In the past years Americans did not care about unhealthy food; they just ate anything they wanted, a couple years after many people including children got overweight because they ate mostly unhealthy food and the government taxed healthy food. That’s why many people spend more money and junk food instead in healthy food. Brody asserts that if we keep eating unhealthy food many people will die by heart attacks, diabetes, or others diseases. For Americans this mean a lot for them because if they does not care about their health they can die. The consequences of the obesity are manifold. In many articles and surveys tell us that many people like to eat unhealthy food, for example, fast food restaurants, coca cola, etc. Also the schools gives a lot of junk food, and that’s why many child's and teenagers are gaining weight and obesity epidemic is growing instead to stop it. For example we did a survey at San Marcos High School that ask to the students what do they eat every day, the most common answer was junk food. We can help them by give them healthy food, take the children's out to do exercise like for 30 minutes or more. For adult people just have to eat healthy food because in that way their children see that healthy food is good for them. Also the government should tax unhealthy food because healthy food is too expensive and people prefer to eat junk food. Schools have to gives healthy food too, and teach them about the benefits of healthy food and what are the affects of junk food. In that way kids and teenagers will eat healthy and we can combat to obesity epidemic and have a healthy
